Commercial Insertion and Playback

Commercial playback and insertion is done in our Breaks Software Module. This broadcast automation program provides both automated and manually triggered access to run commercials, spots and promos. The automation interface can trigger spots based on DTMF tones or other signals from satellite or network feeds and insert breaks when needed.

The manual interface is used to trigger breaks when working “live” events where timing is not as precise as recorded events. The manual interface provides several methods to physically trigger individual spots or break sequences.

Synergy Broadcast can provide commercial insertion with standard MPEG2, SDI or HD Servers as well as our FireBird Server which includes full graphics capability for analog or HD and ASI outputs to support cable and satellite environments.

For more information on the Breaks Module call us at 800-601-6991.

Satellite Control

There is no need to purchase separate software for satellite control or dish tuning with our broadcast automation software.

VLM has the ability to tune your RS-232 or IR dishes and control the most popular Dish Controllers. This very affordable option enables any station to control satellite dishes and manage encoding and playback for any number of satellites. Error Notification and Remote Access enables a technician with a laptop or SmartPhone to be notified of problems and provide corrective action.

Don't over-spend on third-party options.  With VLM, satellite control is easy to accomplish.  Call 800-601-6991 or request more information.

Graphics Control

VLM controls various graphic devices from logo generators to full screen character generators within the broadcast automation interface.

Our control capabilities range from simple switching to full automation control to triggering of logo’s and station ID’s, TV Ratings, Crawls and Scrolls, Emergency Alerts and full screen graphics.

Specific control will vary by device.  Full Broadcast Automation control is available on Synergy Broadcast’s BugCrawler, Informa and FireBird to control individual pages, logo’s or sequences.  Third Party products such as AudienceTV, Evertz, Leitch Logomotion, LogoStar and Chryron’s Codi products vary based on the control protocol each manufacturer provides.

For specific information on Graphic Devices we control please call us at 800-601-6991 or download our Device Control List.

Master Clock Interface

Maintain accurate network or schedule timing with VLM's Master Clock interface for broadcast automation.  VLM controls a number of Third Party Master Clocks and can also serve as it’s own Master Clock.

Third Party Clocks we control include Leitch, Torpey, Horita, Evertz and ESE.

VLM’s Master Clock software program can provide Master Clock capability and drive displays in multiple rooms to keep your entire staff and station on time.  Displays must be compatible with NPR time and include a 9 pin serial connector.

For more information on the Master Clock Module call 800-601-6991.

Video On Demand Option

Video On Demand can be a very important addition to your broadcast automation and scheduling system. Research shows that more and more viewers are turning away from traditional broadcast schedules and are looking for programming that can be viewed on their unique schedule. For broadcasters at any level re-purposing content for streaming or utilizing secondary or additional channels can help you capture these viewers when they are ready and willing to watch.  The key is to have the content in a format the user is looking for and make it easy to find and access.  VLM’s Video On Demand feature provides you with a fully automated web browser interface that automatically creates your web pages and content based on what you want to make available.  Our ServerLINK product provides an easy, automated way to convert content from MPEG2 to alternative content for your on-line viewers.

If you have access to secondary channels the VOD web browser can be configured so that users can schedule programming on these channels to watch on their TV rather than a computer.  If no programs are scheduled your CG is automatically switched in.
