Medical Media Delivery System

MMDS or Medical Media Delivery System is an interactive, patient oriented Hospital Education Solution.  MMDS is designed to Patient Educatorsenhance patient education and patient experience of care for your patients and their families and save your nursing staff valuable time by enhancing their patient interactions.

MMDS delivers patient education as Video On Demand but can also provide scheduled channels.  This means patients and their families can take advantage of the system at any time, but most importantly when they are willing and able to learn.  This improves retention and enhances their patient experience of care which helps with Medicare Value-Based Purchasing rankings.  MMDS does not replace discussions with the nursing staff or the doctor but is used to supplement and expand their information.

MMDS is an interactive patient education system. Patients use their in-room telephone (other interfaces available) to access MMDS and order a program. Patients can watch any time they are ready to learn. Family caregivers can also participate in education and care instruction and be better prepared to provide care after discharge.

The MMDS patient education system helps nurses and patient educators improve patient outcomes by combining their knowledge of the video on demand patient educationpatient's current level of understanding as well as an assessment of their learning skills to easily incorporate appropriate patient education videos and on-going consultations to improve the patient's comprehension, reduce misunderstandings and improve adherence to discharge orders.

Studies show that more than 50% of patients do not understand the information they are given during their hospital stay and 60% of patients do not understand the information they are given about an upcoming procedure.* The inclusion of patient education videos before, during and after discharge can help ensure that patients and their families better understand how to care for the patient after discharge.

MMDS also helps hospitals with Joint Commission standards with our ADT-HL7 interface networkto electronic medical records. The HL7 interface enables the MMDS system to update the patient's hospital record with every video intervention to further document educational activities.
