Video On Demand is the most popular Medical Media Delivery System configuration.  Systems are available in 4, 8, and 12 channel configurations that will meet the needs of 80% of all facilities.  Special configurations are available for hospitals with less than 100 beds or larger than 1200 beds.

MMDS is delivered as a turnkey solution and typically includes the following components:

• Typical storage provides for 170 hours but larger configurations are available

• MMDS Software (video catalog, voice response system and video on demand modules)

• MPEG2 Encoder for digitizing videotapes

• Equipment rack with UPS

MMDS INTERFACE OPTIONS
MMDS offers five interface options:

• Schedule

• Phone Interface

• Pillow Speaker access (requires a multi-button interactive Pillow Speaker

• Touch Screen Interface for personal bedside TV's

• Computer interface using a wireless keyboard

MMDS FEATURES AND OPTIONS
In addition to being easy-to-use and available in a variety of configurations MMDS offers several key advantages:

• Multi-lingual phone messages and instructions

• It's easy to convert taped programming to digital programming

• Programming is available from multiple sources

• The system works with your existing infrastructure (i.e. cable, TV's, network, phone system)

• Optional interface to ADT and Patient Records to automatically record patient activity for Joint Commission

• The system can alert nursing when a patient has watched a program (option)

• The system has a Survey and Testing option to survey patients as well as test their comprehension of any video program they watch.  Results can be sent to nursing for follow up and remedial attention if necessary.

• MMDS is a digital system so your IT Department can manage the technical aspects of the system.

• MMDS will work with standard televisions, new digital LCD and HD sets as well as new touch screen TV's.

• Interface can be blended to handle any infrastructure.  That means you can have a system that uses the phone and Pillow Speaker interface for wall mounted TV's and the Touch Screen for personal TV's.
