Live Streaming
IPTV Transcends Traditional Boundaries
Consider this:
- Broadcast television is limited to viewers that have an antenna and are located within range of the signal.
- Satellite TV is limited to people who have a specific satellite dish, receiver and subscription.
- Cable TV viewers are limited to the programs offered by their local cable TV or Telco.
- IPTV has no boundaries. Video can be streamed over Local and Wide Area Networks as well as the Internet using both wired and wireless delivery to thousands of viewers.
Traditional TV stations provide viewers with more than recorded programming by also offering live events like news, weather and sports, satellite feeds, remote broadcasts and special local events. These same options are available to K-12 as IPTV broadcasters because live events can be encoded and streamed in “real time” rather than being recorded and delayed. This means that live events such as School Board Meetings, commencement exercises, sporting events, dedications, special speakers’ series, banquets or other similar events can be streamed live to audiences around the globe so family and alumni can experience these events as they happen.
With our K-12 Encoder/Server you can publish live events to online sites for live streaming to avoid excessive bandwidth fees and than after the live event the video can also be available for video on demand viewing for those unable to attend the live event using the same device and your existing network or the Internet. This approach is simple and cost effective.
