K-12 IPTV Solutions
Analog TV's are being replaced by projectors and flat panel monitors connected to classroom PC's. This initiates a migration that moves TV away from coax to the network. Network speeds are now fast enough so that schools can move all of their video requirements away from coax and onto the network which eliminates the Cable TV system (saving money) and creates the IPTV system.

IPTV expands the display options to include projectors, desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile devices thus closing the loop in the convergence of traditional television and the Internet at the school level and includes a variety of applications like video on demand where teachers can access video at any time and include video as part of their lesson plans more frequently.
Other uses include live events such as school announcements, athletic events, special guest lectures and cable TV conversion. Previously, live events took complicated equipment and multiple personnel to set up cameras and other equipment but today it can be as simple as a digital video camera and a computer connected to a network to stream an event live anywhere on your network or beyond to include the Internet.
- IPTV saves money and is more cost effective than in-house cable networks.
- IPTV is more "network friendly" today and provides controls to limit bandwidth utilization and reduce interference with data traffic.
- IPTV is more "teacher friendly" because teachers only need to focus on mastering their classroom computer and software rather than multiple hardware systems.
However, IPTV presents new problems that need simple solutions:
- Convert standard cable TV signals to IPTV.
- Deliver video to multiple schools when all schools are not IPTV ready.
- Provide video on demand to teachers that is simple to use and easy to understand.
- Incorporate your own content rather than relying on a subscription provider for relevant content.
