Synergy Broadcast
designs and builds digital playback systems to meet the requirements of
each individual customer. Encoders are available in a variety of
configurations and provide closed caption support.
Encoder options include one or two inputs systems, dual stream options
that include support for Windows Media and RealVideo streaming formats,
and optional confidence monitoring solutions so operators can observe
the actual encoded video as it is encoded.
Transcoding solutions for workflow
improvement are also available.
MPEG2/MPEG4 Encoder Analog
The DE-200 Encoder
provides users with a low-cost solution for encoding analog content into
MPEG2 and/or MPEG4 video. Accepted formats include composite,
component and S-video inputs. This solution is built with a 500G
Hard Drive for storage and can include either an optional confidence
monitor with analog output or a second encoder. This unit is
perfect for facilities that are just beginning to convert content from
tape or have a tight budget. MPEG editing software can be included
as an option. Encode rates for the DE-200 range from 500kps to
15Mbps MPEG2 and 20kps to 4Mbps MPEG4. The audio format for the
DE-200 is MPEG1 Layer 2.
MPEG2/MPEG4 Encoder Analog/SDI
The DE-250
Encoder incorporates the same features as the DE-200 but adds SDI
and AC-3 Audio into the mix. The DE-250 accepts composite,
component and S-video inputs as well as SDI and supports up to 8
channels of analog or digital (AES/EBU) audio. This unit also
supports embedded audio in the SDI stream. The DE-250 includes DVB/ASI
output connector for realtime transmission of MPEG files during
encoding. Encode rates for the DE-250 range from 500kps to 15Mbps
MPEG2 and 20kps to 4Mbps MPEG4. Audio formats for the DE-250 are
MPEG1 Layer 2 analog audio and Dolby Digital 2 channel or 6 channel
(optional). The DE-250 includes a 500G Hard Drive and optional
analog or SDI confidence monitor. MPEG editing software is also an
optional upgrade.
MPEG2 4.2.2 Digital Encoder
For an encoder with higher-end quality Synergy Broadcast manufactures
the DE-400. This is
a 4.2.2 profile encoder for quality encodes from 15Mbps to 50Mbps.
Inputs include composite, component, SDI, and S-video. Audio
inputs include stereo analog (4 channel), digital audio embedded in the
SDI stream and AES/EBU (4 channel). The DE-400 is built with a
500G Hard Drive and can also be configured with an optional analog or
analog/SDI confidence monitor or equipped with dual stream encoding
capability to simultaneously encode Windows or Real Media files.
All Synergy Broadcast encoders can
be loaded with our Digital Server application so they can operate as an
emergency server in the event of a failure with your on-air server.
Automated Encoding
Synergy Broadcast Systems pioneered
automated encoding using our tape automation robots and VLM
automation software. Analog videotape can be encoded automatically
as part of a broadcast operation or configured entirely for a production
application. Other
configurations can be accomplished without the use of robots as we
have developed an extensive list of
third party devices we can
control for automation purposes. C-SPAN Archives uses Synergy
Broadcast's Automated Encoding application to convert their 25,000 plus
tape programs into three different digital archive formats. A
white paper is
available that provides more detail.
