Synergy Broadcast offers several solutions to back-up and
archive your video assets. These solutions are configured to meet
the needs of each specific customer and take into consideration their
current installation, existing budget, storage requirement, growth
expectation and formats.
Having an alternative to your server storage is critical
to saving your video assets and reducing manpower needs as a result of a
catastrophic failure. You may have spent hundreds of hours
converting your videotaped programs into MPEG2 files and one major failure
in your server can potentially destroy all of that work. The smart
thing to do is protect yourself by taking one or more steps to create a
safe, secure archive solution.
TAPE BACKUP
One of the easiest things you can do is install an AIT tape backup in your
server or encoder and backup your programming to a tape that can be stored
on a shelf or better yet in a fire safe. AIT tape stands for
Advanced Intelligent Tape and is capable of storing hundreds of hours of
MPEG2 or other file formats depending on the encode rate.
Synergy Broadcast's
VLM software controls the AIT drive and automatically archive and
transfer data.
DAU-AIT
AIT tapes can also be incorporated into one of our
Robots to provide you with a
fully automated
archive solution that can store thousands of hours of programming and
automatically restore programming to the server prior to "on-air" playback
needs. In addition to on-air restoration, the DAU-AIT unit can be
used as part of a fully automated video
conversion process to convert analog assets to digital assets.
Facilities that need to convert thousands of hours of
programming can do so as part of their normal broadcast or as part of a
fully automated production system.
DIGITAL ARCHIVE UNIT
For facilities that want a totally tapeless environment, Synergy Broadcast
can provide a fully loaded DAU solution that can
be tightly integrated with your Synergy Broadcast headend or Master
Control operation. The DAU operates similar to Networked Attached
Storage but includes our Media Archive and Restore software. As files are encoded they are automatically
transferred to the DAU. As these files are needed for playback the
system will automatically locate the file and restore it to the server in
time for playback.
DAU units are available in a wide variety of
configurations from small 8 x 250 Gig units to larger 24 x 1TB units.
